A community that has access to clean water is a healthy community. In Uganda most communities are located in mountainous areas with no access to clean water. They must walk 2-4 miles down the river to collect water from the river stream. This water is dirty and causes water borne diseases. PPMU is helping the communities by constructing rain water barrels to collect rain water. So far 40 water tanks have been constructed each at the cost of $300. This will avail community members with clean water, reduce the burden of running miles to collect water, give an opportunity for children to go to school, and eliminate spread of water borne diseases.
